Do you participate with my insurance?
Hagerstown, MD Plastic Surgery Services participate with many insurance companies. Please refer to the Financial Agreement
Is the patient responsible for obtaining any medical records, previous test results, MRI report, etc. prior to the appointment?
Yes. If there are any prior doctor notes and/or test results, the patient is responsible for obtaining these and sending them to our office for Dr. Garazo to review before an appointment will be made. This allows Dr. Garazo and appropriate Hagerstown, MD Plastic Surgery Services staff to completely review your studies prior to your consultation.
Can a payment plan be set up instead of payment in full at the time of service?

When a patient comes in for first appointment, will the doctor remove the lesion at that time?
Dr. Garazo may biopsy the area at the first appointment in order to establish the diagnosis. If malignant, the patient may require definitive surgery to completely excise the area.
What would be a best option with regards to scarring, cautery or sutures?
Dr. Garazo will determine what is best to treat your specific problem and give you the best cosmetic result. The doctor will discuss these options with you during your consultation at Hagerstown, MD Plastic Surgery Services.
How do I take care of the area after surgery?
Please refer to the post-surgical instructions for the procedure you had done.
If the gauze/bandage falls off, what should I do?
Replace it.
If the area won't stop bleeding, what should I do?
If bleeding occurs, apply firm, constant pressure with a gauze pad for 30 CONTINUOUS minutes. (DO NOT lift gauze to check before 30 minutes elapse) It should stop. If it does not stop or if you have questions, please call the office at 301-791-1800.
What should I do if the scab is still there after 7 days?
DO NOT PICK OFF. The scab will eventually fall off with time.
Can I shower, wash hair, etc. if I have stitches?
You may get the sutures wet 48 hours after surgery. Do not immerse the surgical site until sutures are removed.
