Post-procedure guidelines of cosmetic surgery: Maryland plastic surgeon, Dr Garazo and Staff are experienced and knowledgeable about caring for post procedure wounds. This page explains the steps for caring for a cauterized area. Please read below, if you have any questions after reading the instruction do no hesitate to contact us.
Cauterized areas will form a scab post surgery.
Apply alcohol 3 times daily, avoiding the eyes, until scab falls off.
Keep areas uncovered as much as possible. Cover only if clothing irritates the area(s).
DO NOT cover area(s) with make-up until the scab falls off.
The scab will typically fall off in 7-14 days. For the best results, DO NOT PICK THE SCAB OFF!
Surgeons of cosmetic surgery, Maryland, advise that you use only NON-ASPIRIN pain relievers, such as Tylenol. (Please refer to blood thinning medication list)
If bleeding occurs, apply firm, constant pressure with a gauze pad for 30 CONTINUOUS minutes. DO NOT lift gauze to check before 30 minutes elapses. It should stop.
If pain or bleeding persists or if you have any questions, please call the office at 301-791-1800.
