Dr. Garazo, plastic surgeon Maryland, takes great pride in hiring his staff of professionals. Read each staff members bio below.

Kelly Vance: Office Manager, Patient Coordinator

Kelly has worked in the medical field for over 15 years. She first started working at Plastic Surgery Services with plastic surgeon Maryland, Dr Garazo in 1993. She enjoys making every patient feel they have received the very best experience from our office. Kelly's hobbies are scrapbooking, shopping, and watching her daughters play volleyball. She lives with her husband Joe, along with her two daughters Megan and Jessica.

Stacey Tuomey: Registered Nurse (RN)

Stacey received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas in Arlington. She initially joined Plastic Surgery Services with plastic surgeon Maryland Dr Garazo in 2005 as the operating room nurse, and now has become part of our daily office staff. Stacey enjoys ballet and jazz dancing (her previous career), reading, theater, spending time with her husband Scott, two children, Danielle and Jackson, and two dogs, Lucy and Foster.
 

Christie Hovis: Medical Assistant (CMA)

Christie graduated from Kaplan College in November of 2007 and is a Certified Medical Assistant. Her goal is for each patient to leave our office feeling great about themselves and the treatment they received. She enjoys working outdoors, attending car shows, and spending time with her husband Paul, daughter Ariel and her stepdaughters Erica and Megan.

Shay Walling: Receptionist (CNA)

Shay began working in the medical field as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 2000. She joined our staff in 2006 as a receptionist. Shay strives to make the patient feel welcome and assists with their registration. She enjoys reading and spending time with her husband Josh and their daughters, Kacee and Josie.

Barbara Caton-Miles, RN

Barbara is a graduate of Clear Spring High School and Sinai Hospital
School of Nursing. After 34 years of surgical experience, she retired from Washington County Hospital where she was an Assistant Nurse Manager and Materials Manager. She is employed part-time as 1st Assistant to Dr. Garazo in the operating room at Plastic Surgery Services. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her grandchildren

Thomas J. Schmitz, MD

Dr. Schmitz is a board-certified anesthesiologist providing anesthesia services at The Galleria Surgery Center since 2004. He is a graduate of Georgetown and Penn State Universities, and completed his anesthesia residency at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
