Cosmetic surgeons in Maryland urge patients to understand the effects of all the medicine they take. Medications containing aspirin, for example, have a systemic effect on anyone who consumes them on a daily basis. These products are known as blood thinners, thus they change the blood-clotting ability of those taking them, which obviously impacts the ability to heal after surgery.
Dr. Garazo advises you that the ideal time to discontinue these products is two (2) complete weeks prior to surgery, unless otherwise directed by your surgeon. Even one pill within this time period can affect bleeding.

- Cold, sinus & combination products: Alka Seltzer, Dristan, 4-Way Cold Tablets, Sine Aid
