Breast rejuvenation is a catch-all term to describe several different procedures that affect the appearance of your breasts. If you look at your breasts in the mirror and are unhappy with what you see, one or more plastic surgery procedures can help.
Many women seek breast rejuvenation in Maryland for a variety of reasons. Weight loss and gain can cause your breasts to change shape and lose elasticity; breastfeeding can cause the same issues. Sometimes your genes just weren’t generous enough, and age can lead to sagging and drooping—not words you necessarily want to associate with your physique. Breast enhancement surgery can can include the following procedures, alone or in combination: a breast augmentation, a breast lift, or perhaps even a breast reduction to refresh and renew your breasts.
Following are some common breast issues along with the various procedures that can address them:
- Small cup size. If you’ve always had small breasts, or if weight loss or breastfeeding have caused them to lose mass, breast augmentation can help. I insert saline or silicone gel breast implants that will increase the fullness of your breasts, giving you a larger cup size. Before your surgery, we’ll talk about the size and type of implants that will work best for you; we’ll take into account things like your body size and shape, your lifestyle, and the size of your breasts before surgery.
- Sagging breasts. If you’re happy with the size of your breasts but they’re not as high and perky as they used to be, a breast lift, also known as mastopexy, may be right for you. Breast lift alone doesn’t alter the size of your breasts—it lifts and tightens the skin, restoring a more shapely silhouette.
- Sagging breasts with loss of shape and volume. Sometimes size, shape, and gravity are all working against you. In that case, I can combine breast augmentation and mastopexy, increasing the size of your breasts and lifting them to a higher profile on your chest.
- Sagging, heavy breasts. Occasionally less is more when it comes to breast rejuvenation. Breast reduction surgery can alleviate the physical pain and emotional distress that sometimes accompanies having excessively large breasts.
