Maryland Jeuveau Injections

Smooth crow’s feet & brow lines with the ‘tox on the block

BOTOX® has become a household name, synonymous with neurotoxin injections designed to help reduce the appearance of frown lines in the upper face. But BOTOX hasn’t been the only cosmetic botulinum toxin on the market in a number of years—Dr. Garazo uses both BOTOX and Dysport to provide patients with the best option for their individual needs. And now, he’s pleased to welcome a new option at Plastic Surgery Services: Jeuveau™.

Procedure Overview:

What is Jeuveau?

Like BOTOX, Jeuveau is an injectable botulinum toxin type A neuromodulator. Essentially, neurotoxin injectables work by temporarily interrupting signals between nerves and muscles, preventing facial movements that lead to and deepen expression lines on the brow and around the eyes.

Once injected, Jeuveau begins working over the course of a week. You’ll notice your expression lines starting to smooth out rather than deepening when you emote. You should not feel or look “frozen,” just more relaxed.

“Dr. Garazo and staff are amazing to work with. They are very professional and personable. They take the time needed to make your experience comfortable. They care about each and every one of their clients. Before, during and after my procedure I always felt at ease. I highly recommend Dr. Garazo.”

Is Jeuveau different than BOTOX?

When it comes to your experience and results, Jeuveau and BOTOX are incredibly similar. In fact, Jeuveau is the first neurotoxin introduced with the same molecular structure as BOTOX. But there are a few differences between the two products:

  • While BOTOX is used both cosmetically and medically (to treat sweating, migraines, and more), Jeuveau is formulated and approved specifically for cosmetic wrinkle reduction.
  • Jeuveau is formulated with a proprietary “Hi Pure” technology to improve the longevity of the product and, perhaps, extend the lifetime of results.
  • BOTOX is freeze-dried whereas Jeveau is vacuum-dried, which is thought to improve potency.

Results & Side Effects

How long does Jeuveau last?

On average, your results should last around three to four months. However, the long-term results of Jeuveau are still being studied to determine if the formulation and packaging of the product have improved longevity.

We often recommend that our injectables patients plan on scheduling maintenance treatments before the full effects of your initial injections wear off. This will help you continue to look natural.

Does Jeuveau have side effects?

Jeaveau was not shown to have any serious adverse side effects during clinical trials, though you should expect a few mild and short-lived effects. Tenderness, swelling, redness, headache, and/or bruising after treatment are common side effects with most injectables, though they are typically manageable and resolve quickly.

How much does Jeuveau cost in Hagerstown?

The price of Jeuveau is similar to BOTOX per unit or per treatment. How many units you will need, and thus your final cost, will depend on which areas you are having treated and how severe your concerns are.

  • Anti-Aging: Jeuveau temporarily relaxes facial muscles, smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles, particularly those on the forehead and around the eyes.
  • Quick, Non-Surgical Procedure: The treatment involves quick, minimal injections, making it a convenient option for people with busy schedules and a preference for non-surgical cosmetic procedures.
  • Minimal Downtime: Patients can typically return to their daily activities immediately after treatment, with no significant recovery time needed.
  • Visible Results Within Days: Many patients see noticeable improvements in their appearance within 2 to 3 days after receiving Jeuveau injections.
  • Prevent Lines & Wrinkles: Regular use of Jeuveau can help prevent the deepening of lines and wrinkles, contributing to a more youthful appearance over time.
  • Botulinum Toxin Type A: The active ingredient in Jeuveau, a neurotoxic protein that temporarily paralyzes muscles to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
  • Botox: A brand of botulinum toxin type A, widely used for cosmetic and therapeutic purposes to reduce wrinkles and treat muscle-related conditions.
  • Daxxify: A newer neuromodulator on the market that uses a unique formulation of botulinum toxin type A to provide wrinkle reduction, with effects that may last longer than those of its competitors.
  • Dynamic Wrinkles: Facial lines that appear as a result of muscle movement, such as frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines, which Jeuveau can effectively treat.
  • Dysport: Another brand of botulinum toxin type A, similar to Botox and Jeuveau, used to treat and prevent wrinkles by temporarily relaxing facial muscles.
  • Glabellar Lines: Also known as “frown lines,” these are the vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows that Jeuveau can minimize or eliminate.
  • Injection Sites: The specific areas on the face where Jeuveau is injected, typically around the forehead, eyes, and mouth, to achieve desired cosmetic results.
  • Jeuveau: A brand name for a cosmetic injectable product used to temporarily improve the appearance of facial wrinkles by relaxing underlying muscles.
  • Neuromodulator: A substance, such as Jeuveau, that temporarily blocks nerve signals to muscles, reducing their activity and smoothing out wrinkles. This category includes Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, and Xeomin.
  • Neurotoxins: A broader category of substances that affect the nervous system’s function; in the context of cosmetic treatments, botulinum toxin type A products like Jeuveau, Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, and Xeomin are considered neurotoxins because they temporarily paralyze muscles to reduce wrinkles.
  • Recovery Time: The minimal downtime required after Jeuveau injections, with most patients able to resume normal activities immediately.
  • Results Duration: The length of time the effects of a Jeuveau treatment last, typically 3 to 6 months, after which follow-up treatments may be needed to maintain results.
  • Static Wrinkles: Wrinkles that are visible without muscle movement, not the primary target for Jeuveau, which is more effective on dynamic wrinkles.
  • Units: The measurement used to quantify the amount of Jeuveau injected, with the required units varying based on the treatment area, desired outcomes, and individual patient characteristics.
  • Xeomin: A botulinum toxin type A product similar to Botox and Jeuveau, used for cosmetic and therapeutic purposes to reduce muscle activity and treat wrinkles.
